Okay. I got brave and followed what I think was an illogical process since I wanted to update an extension that was already installed, not install a new one. Well, it worked! nothing is in Red anymore. You should reward me by sending me a fix for my shadowbox x problem now. We subscribed in Mid-April and received CB with this unexpected, annoying bug in it. We should be entitled to a FREE update if the new version is not released prior to the expiration of our subscription. We are a small non-profit organization of artists who make life more enjoyable for others. We do not have the cash flow to support these expenses on an ongoing basis. Thanks for your consideration and for being so patient with me while I tip toed through this maze. Tom

The product pages and the downloads page by default will always give you latest release whether it's stable or nightly build. Simply download and install through Joomla or CB as our package installer works fine on either.

CB Gallery development should resume soon.

I infer from your reply that we will be able to download and use the new version of Community Builder for free once it is fully developed and released from either the product pages or the downloads page even if our Professional Membership has expired. I realize we would no longer have access to the Nightly Builds and your personal attention to our questions. Thank you.

You have access to latest Community Builder releases whether free or not. CB Gallery releases you will no longer have access to if your subscription should expire.

The malfunctioning shadow box "x" that you are probably tired of reading about is, as I understand it, an element within Community Builder. It functions completely independent of Community Builder Gallery right? We use it to display up to six images representing the art of our profiled members. If I understand you correctly we should be able update CB and correct this issue at no cost once the new version is released even if our subscription has expired. Please verify.

We do use Community Builder Gallery elsewhere on our site to display a large number of images along with a slide show and it serves us well.

Thank you

No, it's a bug in CB Gallery; the needed improvements to CB modal usage have already been implemented. The way CB Gallery currently works is it opens the next or previous gallery modal window on top of the previous. So they are stacked. When you close 1 it doesn't close them all. You can see this behavior directly in the DOM tree when using previous or next navigation as the modal windows stack up. CBs modal usage is working as expected (it allows modal stacking), but CB Gallery usage of that API didn't have it set to only open 1.

You will need the next CB Gallery release, when it's done, for the fix. If your subscription expires before that time you can either renew or purchase CB Gallery subscription separately which will provide just access to CB Gallery (we have adjusted our individual subscription prices to be more attractive).
