Did you upgrade from a previous CB release? CB 1.x or CB 2.x? You should have a database table called _extensions. If you do not then there's something very wrong with your Joomla install.
It's possible the admin module installed while the component failed to install, which could cause it to try and load API that doesn't exist. Check if the below directory exists and if it does renamed it so it doesn't load the module.
/administrator/modules/mod_cbadmin
Please also review your server error logs around the time of install to see if you've any fatal errors present.
