How to set the length of the automatically generated password?

Hi Kyle,

Thank you for the help, much appreciated.

We do not require new user Admin approval or email confirmation. Here's why: We control access to the sign up page separately in a manual process and only pre-authorized people are given a password that lets them start the sign up process and create a user account. I attached the settings in the cb configuration panel so you can see what we are doing.

So, when they sign up they are automatically approved and ready to use the site with no further approvals required.

Does this answer your question?

Strange, in that case the generated password should work fine in the Welcome email as configured within CB > Configuration > Registration. Are you doing any kind of user store before this email is sent? Any actions acting on the after registration trigger maybe using CB Auto Actions?

Hi Kyle,

Here is what we are doing according to our developers:
We have some code to update info in a few tables:
__comprofiler
__acymailing_listsub
__acymailing_list

But nothing that we see makes a change to the Joomla users table.

Regarding the possible trigger in CB Auto Actions...
The "onAfterUserRegistration' trigger is being used in the CB Auto Actions.
I have attached an image of what that does.

Does any of this help or can we provide additional information?
Thank you for the help.

Changing usergroup is a user store. Try disabling CB Auto Actions then see if your issue persists. CB Auto Actions should be leaving password alone.
