Depends on how you're doing the redirect. If you're doing it from CB Auto Actions then you need to provide what auto action configuration you're using to perform the redirect. The onAfterSaveUserRegistration trigger for example would be a good place to do the redirect. A message can be included with the redirect as shown in the redirect actions parameters. var2 of onAfterSaveUserRegistration is also an array of messages that should be output to the user, which you maybe able to substitute in (e.g. try [var2] or maybe [var2_0]).
