I Think of got it to work after restoring the site and database about 12 times.
Here is some of what did.
1. Uninstall Kunena
2. Uninstall Akeeba
'3. Uninstall Regular Modals
4. Uninstall Regular Sourcerer
5. Stop System CB Auto Actions
6. Stop System RokExtender
7. Uninstall CBJuice
8. Stop Authentication Joomla
9. Stop Cbpaidsubbot
10. Uninstall OSMeta
11 Upgraded to Joomla 4.4, update CB and all plugins.
12. Reinstall extensions for 4.4
Now is does seems to work. I am testing for the next 5 days and it if ok, I will leave configurations as it is now.
I have some deprecated messages, but you told me not to be of a concern with those.
Question, I am running MySQL 5.7.49 and looking to update but most hosting companies are running just about the same and not MySQL 8, instead the are running MariaDB 10. IS CB compatible with MariaDB/

Equivalent version of MariaDB is supported, yes.
