Community Builder 1.0 stable (build 1) is now in the CB Test-team's hands. Over 30 testers have replied to test-team leader Trail's call for test last week. All 37 known bugs logged by users into our bug-tracker have been corrected, while no features (and hopefully no new bugs) have been added, to deserve the stable tag. We should know more about its stability in the next days. Once the stability has been tested, we will release.

Last few nights have been particularly interesting. We got a call from Johan Janssens (Jinx), the Joomla! core development team leader, who proposed a session of interoperability tests (Joomla! 1.0 backwards compatibility) of Community Builder 1.0 stable candidate with the upcomming Joomla! 1.1 alpha 2 release.

So we spent a few test and debugging nights together with Johan and Louis to make sure that Community Builder 1.0 stable runs also on upcomming Joomla! 1.1. This is now the case. The logical, but funy part was that the incompatibility fixes have been made as much as possible on Joommla! 1.1 core by Joomla's core team, and the less possible by CB's core team.

I have to say that I have been impressed by Joomla! 1.1 alpha 2 core redesign, and even more impressed by the level of backwards compatibility still reached. It's user interface is also very familiar to Mambo/Joomla users, and the stability is already excellent, with a few small bugs to correct left. Looking forward to great times.

JoomlaJoe and myself have also been invited to join the Joomla Standards and Guidelines (S&G) Group. This will ensure ongoing smooth integration.
