CB Field Groups is here and it's a game changer

CB Field Groups is a new CB plugin (included in Professional and Developer membership subscriptions) that adds a new Field Group field type to the CB Field Manager.

With this new feature you can configure groupings of fields that can appear on user profiles and you can configure things so your users can dynamically repeat instances of each grouping. In the sample screenshot above, we have configured a Phone field group where users can populate as many (phone type, number) pairs as they want (configurable for each field).

There are two built-in templates: default where each field in the group is displayed vertically or table where the group is displayed in a table like format (as in the screenshot).

There will be a tutorial for this new add-on, but in the meantime here is a quick 1-2-3 steps process:

1. Download, install and publish the new CB plugin (requires Community Builder 2.2.1 or better)
2. Using the CB Field manager create new placeholder fields (e.g., dropdown field for phone type and text field for phone number)
3. Again using the CB Field manager create a new Field Group field and in the field Parameters -> Display tab area select the fields you want to group (see step 2), the button label and the Group Limit (0 for no limit)

You now have a new fields group that your users can populate and add rows to as needed (and configured in step 3 limit).

You can actually see this exact use case in action on our demo site: tab CB Fields Group on the user profile and cb_fieldgroup in the CB Field Manager (to see the actual configuration).

Community Builder can be freely downloaded by all registered members

We just released Community Builder 2.2.1 with 2 new features and 7 bug fixes.

This release is primarily pushed to pave the way for the upcoming CB Field Groups plugin.

A detailed changelog is available in the discussion thread.

Community Builder 2.2.1 is a minor release and those wanting to take advantage of the upcoming CB Field Groups plugin should upgrade. As always, you should first test on a cloned environment before upgrading your production site..

Our demo website has already been updated to Community Builder 2.2.1.

CB Template Changer 4.0 is here with a new built-in Bootstrap builder for your Community Builder 2.2 site.

This release lets you generate new CB 2.2 compatible bootstrap templates which can then be selected by your website viewers.

You can basically change the look and color styles of your bootstrap 4 CB 2.2 site by compiling a new template directly from your CB Template Changer backend plugin area.

Kyle's template builder blog gives more details and our demo website has been updated so you can see this new functionality in action.

Joomla 3.8.10 is here - a quick fix for the Joomla 3.8.9 security and bug fixes release!

The Joomla project team has recently released versions 3.8.9 and 3.8.10. Joomla 3.8.9 is a security and bug fixes release and Joomla 3.8.10 fixes a Joomla 3.8.9 bug.

Community Builder 2.2 (latest build) and all Joomlapolis add-ons work just fine with Joomla 3.8.10. You can see everything in action on our demo site.

Joomla 3.8.9 addresses 2 low-priority security vulnerabilities and fixes bugs.

The Joomla 3.8.10 is a highly recommended upgrade for all Joomla 3.x series sites. As always, before any Joomla upgrade on your live website, take a backup just in case anything goes wrong.

Community Builder can be freely downloaded by all registered members

We just released Community Builder 2.2 with 3 new features and 3 bug fixes.

A huge THANK YOU to Kyle (aka krileon) who has been working on this since January and has done an awesome job making Community Builder one of the first Joomla extensions to get Bootstrap 4 support!

A detailed changelog is available in the discussion thread. The main new feature of CB 2.2 is a new, awesome, modern, clean looking user interface with improved mobile responsiveness, using the brand new Bootstrap 4 that has been selected for Joomla 4 (to be released later this year).

All our Joomlapolis plugins have also been updated to support CB 2.2 and Bootstrap 4. Paid subscribers can download latest CB 2.2 compatible add-ons from the download area. Once you install or upgrade to CB 2.2, you will need to upgrade all your Joomlapolis add-ons for CB 2.2 clean display compatibility.

Community Builder 2.2 is a major release and all users should first test on a cloned environment for compatibility issues with their other add-ons and their Joomla template.

We will be updating our demo website to CB 2.2 asap, but in the meantime, we have provided above a screenshot of the completely redesigned Connections management page.
