Did the custome fields populate?

All right Bob....it smells like victory.... :woohoo:

- i reinstalled my plugins
- i ftp'd the images/comprofiler folder from my old site to new site which successfully recovered my avatars

it looks like everything is working.

the "manual" process was far superior to Jupgrade.

As for Redcomponent/Jupgrade, their support tech has still not gotten back to me since i educated her how to access cpanel (add /cpanel to the url !). my next step with Jupgrade will be to ask for a refund.....not that $36 is that much....but i don't appreciate having a large amount of time wasted with a non-functional, under documented, under supported product.

for the record here's my complete, successful CB 1.9, J1.5 to J2.5 migration process....

- did a fresh j2.5 install with a rockettheme launcher
- loaded Supgrade and transfered jos_comprofiler tables
- installed CB 1.9
- manually configured CB configuration to match old site
- updated access levels for each CB tab and list
- i noted that my custom field data had not transferred. i deleted the xxxx_comprofiler table on the new site and re-transferred that table using php admin export/import (this populated my custom fields)
- the 2.5 joomla menu item "user lists" doesn't give me a choice of lists, i worked around this using the joomla "external url" menu item grabbing the url from the CB list pages.
- i reinstalled my plugins
- i ftp'd the images/comprofiler folder from my old site to new site which successfully recovered my avatars

i imagine there is a cleaner way to do it and i'd love to see the Joomlapolis guys publish an improved version or better yet, make a Jupgrade independent migration script.

your mileage may vary,

cheers,

Dave

Thanks Dave, that looks like a good plan of attack. I'm wimpy about direct SQL stuff but copying from the active shouldn't be an issue (I keep telling myself that).

I think I may have been missing the permissions issue but just looking at the back end nothing was there. Will let you know how it goes.

Good troubleshooting and good luck on that refund.

OK Dave, here's what I did. Always other ways to skin that cat...

Install J!
Install CB
Export all the source comprofiler tables and the user tables to sql file on my PC.
Edit those files to replace the old DB Prefix to the new one, just use Notepad++ to do a find and replace.
Import those files to the destination database.
Copy the comprofiler directory from the source \images\ to the new directory
Open Admin of the J! Go to CB control panel and run the tools for the database.

It really was that simple, now to see if I can get my lunch money back.

hey guys,

did we ever come up with a solution to this?

I'm looking at a huge migration of CB, CBSubs and I really don't want to do this manually...
