Hi and thanks for wanting to help.

I have installed K2 and CB on my website (both newest/updated versions), and turned on CB integration in K2. When I post a new blog item, it shows "written by" just perfectly... however, no author name. I have overwritten all K2 items as a fresh install in all possible folders (admin, modules, compontents, languages, templates).. but to no avail!

Now when I go into Community builder and add a friend, it shows no names in CB-activity,
as in: "blank" and "blank" are now friends. The problem is that I have also installed CB 3th party plugin SuperActivity, to have a facebook like wall. But it will not show any updates either since it doesn't recognize the CB (or K2) usernames, so I turned it off :s I have added 2 screenshots, the first illustrates the different code between a website that shows username and my own. The second is what CB activity shows when adding a friend (or any other update for that matter)

I hope there is some crack out there that can tell me what file I need to edit to fix it or is it stored somewhere in te DB?

Thanks a bunch!

Your formatname field isn't on a published and public tab. That field is where CB and various other extensions grab name output from. It must be on a public and published tab. It's fine to move it to a tab in a not shown on profile position if you don't want it actually visible on profile though.

I have (a part) of the same problem. I have installed K2 and Community Builder on my website (both newest/updated versions), and turned on CB integration in K2. When I post a new blog item, it shows "written by" ... but, no author name. The 'formatname' is published and shown on a public tab.

Do you have any suggestions?

Name display is strictly based off the formatname field. Ensure the field is set to show on profile in addition to being on a public and published tab.

Hello!

Currently using:
Joomla 3.0.3
CB Professional Membership and GroupJive
K2_v2.6.5
JCK editor Basic Membership

Since the CB installation,I am struggling with the user’s name configuration issues on the front-end in: “Item view options in category listings” and “Item view options”
for K2 items, the author’s name does not show under the category view items or the items itself under the field: “written by”.
Note that however,
o the K2 modules displays, eg K2 category wall or reading list, the author’s name is correctly displayed
Any clue?
o the CB user’s name shows in the front-end module in the Joomla Articles.
I have searched all the forums and tried all suggestions about formatname configuration and other possible issues...
Could you let me know what I should look for?
Many thanks!
