Hello!

Thank you for your patience.
Note that K2 parameters allow us now to config the author field. I replaced it with formatname... however, I am still facing the same conflicts. See attached the pdf files with screenshots of CB global config, K2 parameters and frontend pages showing the conflicts...

Let me clarify the documentation issues, CB offers one of the best manuals, forums, FAQ and support... I was able to install and activate 99 % of all CB features in record time. Incredible possibilities and so well structured that it is overall easy to implement them... Congrats and thanks.
Any light you can shed my way with the current conflict will be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Agnes

The formatname field needs to be on a public and published tab. The field it self needs to be set to be visible on profile. If you don't want it actually visible then move it to a tab that is in a not shown on profile position (tab still needs to be public and published). Beyond that I don't know what more to tell you as that's how you'd have an API accessible field and I've no idea how K2 implemented all of this as I did not review their source. Please also provide a screenshot of your conflicts as I've no idea what issue you're referring to exactly.

Please do not upload PDFs or ZIPs of images, just attach the images to your post. For security purposes I do not download anything from a user, sorry.

You supply the formatname field in the URL prefix. This is just for SEF so it won't do anything for name display. You also set CB to use a single name field instead of first, middle, and last. You can't have both at the same time as CB can only have 1 name format usage so you need to pick which you want.

I don't know how K2 is handling the name display as I don't see any getFields usage for the formatname field. The only usage of CB I see in K2 is for the Avatar and profile URLs. From what I can see they're pulling the name directly from the Joomla user object. I suggest contacting K2 for further support as seams to be an issue with K2.

Hello!

:woohoo: For other users on the same boat!!! After searching forums and documentation for over 3 weeks, scanning files, I found a simple solution to the conflict that I was experiencing with the author's name no longer showing in the K2 frontend items under the "written by" field.. I found a post in K2 forums (#161298) by Stefano Gargiulo that allowed me to "fix" the conflict between K2 and CB. I have now disabledthe element cbauthorbot of the plugin: Content - Community Builder Author(-->Joomla extensions -> plugins--). And voilà, the author's name is showing again on the frontend category listing and items with link to the author profile as well! I am back in business...

Kyle, what are the implications of disabling the Community Builder Author plugin? According to Stefano, it is an old fashion plugin that CB no longer uses. I believe that the plugin was part of the new CB Pro Quickstart Pro package that I purchased and it is a brand new installation.

Thanks & kind regards,
Agnes
