New registration going to many users

New registration going to many users was created by Bob_Sprague
I am using CB 1.9 on a 2.5.8 site. I have used CB since 2006. Recently, when a new user registers, the details go not only to the admin (me) but to many of my 450 users, annoying them. How can I stop this from happening?

Check within CB > Configuration > Moderation and ensure their usergroup isn't within the moderator usergroup. Also edit a few of those users and check to ensure they're not set to receive moderator emails.

Thanks for this response. I have reset the moderator group to Superusers only. It had been set to Administrators, yet many who were getting emails were just Authors and not Admins.

Strange, they shouldn't have been. Edit them and ensure they're not set to receive moderator emails.

I continue to have this issue. A number of users, who are configured *not* to receive emails request account activation are getting them any.

A basic question: In CB 1.9 under Configuration -> Registration, I have chosen Allow User Registration -> Yes, independently of global setting

Under explanation, it says: Recommended setting: only through CB : set : "Yes" here and "No" in global site setting.

Please tell me where the "global site setting" is. It's not in my site's config file. Sorry, if this obvious to others; it is not me, and I'm looking at all possibilities to resolev an issue that annoys my users. Thank you.

You disable Joomla registration from Users > User Manager > Options > Component then set "Allow User Registration" to "No".

There's no reason for your users to be receiving CB moderator emails if they are set to not receive emails and are not within the moderator usergroups. This is IF checked during the query to ensure those users are never included in the list of moderators.

Perhaps they not receiving a CB email, but an email from something else? Can you please provide the email that they're receiving? Sensitive data omitted of course.
