[SOLVED] Major Registration/Sign Up Issues On Now Live Site?

Hi All,

Our site has had to go live today and everything has previously worked as intended etc but we've started to get reports back of confirmation emails and such like not being receieved.

I've checked the various "Tools" and they all report fine with Green lettering / ticks.

I have signed up a test account and I get to this no problem;

"Registration Complete!

An email with further instructions on how to complete your registration has been sent to the email address you provided.

Please check your email (including your spambox) to complete your registration."

However, I've waited and waited and no confirmation email and I in putted the correct one.

Something weird in the 'User Management' is that two of the elements are just going to a red cross now too.





I need urgent help to try and resolve this issue before all marketing and press releases go to waste. :(

Sounds like you've an issue with outbound emails not working at all. You need to test to make sure emails are even working first. Navigate to CB > User Management and check the checkbox next to your user. Now click Mass Mailer to send your self an email and see if you receive it. This will test to see if CB can send emails successfully or not.

Hi Kyle,

I never thought of trying this, I am so stupid grrrrr.

I have done as you kindly directed and it does indeed seem this is the fault.

Can you please clarify for me where I set this up correctly to work in tandem with CB, I'm checking Global Config>Server tab>Mail Settings?

I've logged in to the email address used for Mail Settings and sent an email direct from the webmail etc but just can't get it to send an email to my test CB username via massmail.

Well it says it's sent, no errors in CB mass mail system but they are just not being received to my personal email addy inbox as they should be.

Is there a specific 'Mailer' out of the 3 options I should be using to best complement CB?

Are you using SMTP for your mailer settings within Joomla global configuration? What mailer mode are you using specifically? If PHP Mailer it should be fine. Send Mail and SMTP likely need specific settings. You can also try emailing your self with Joomlas mass mailer to see if Joomla can even send emails.

I've tried all 3 mailer features, with the specific email addresses mail settings correct I'm sure of it.

I've tried Joomla's mass mailer too but still not recieving, so I think I'll have to jump across to Joomla Forum and see what I can find out.
