[SOLVED] Major Registration/Sign Up Issues On Now Live Site?

Something weird is happening;

I've managed to get the mailer to work it seems via 'Sendmail' option out of the 3 now. I can send an email from Joomla Core Mass Mail to for e.g. Super User group and I receive it at the relevant email address.

So I thought I'd try and register a new test account and was faced with this;



However, it does create the test user in the CB User Management but when I try to login it says the following;



This is my CB Registration tab settings;



So when a new user is created, something isn't quite right in my settings surely but I can't find as to what as you can see I request a confirmation email be sent etc but not being received as a new user but I can send mass mail to previously setup test users before I had this current problem.

I'm now sooooo confused as to how to fix this and get it working.

You've Joomlas Contact Creator system plugin enabled. Navigate to Extensions > Plug-in Manager and disable it. It creates a Joomla contact entry for each user that registers. The problem with this is the silly thing is unique by Name, but Name is not unique.

Thank you for this heads up it's much appreciated. I have disabled "User - Contact Creator"

Is there anything I need to do now to clean up the Joomla Core User database or CB's user database etc?

I've had to turn off "Confirmation Email" in the "Registration" tab of CB Config, so at least people can sign up and start contributing and then I will look to try and resolve this email issue late at night when members aren't around.

I am getting emails at the allotted email address when a new user registers for e.g. but I still cannot seem to get the outgoing emails correctly 100% working smoothly.

Nope, once that plugin is disabled you shouldn't see that error anymore.

So your admin is receiving new user registration emails? Yet mass mailer, confirmation, etc.. emails are not working? Don't quite understand the issue. Perhaps your emails are being spam filtered and going to spam folders?

You are correct in that my admin super user account is getting new user registrations come through to the email address I selected / chose no problem.

I've had my hosting provider who really are awesome, award winners past couple of years on the trot here in the UK and I put it to them about emails possibly being spam filtered and in to spam folders but they don't think that is the case.

Also, they are looking at what should be the correct information needed for the Global Config>Server>Mailer section, although I do feel they're going to come back and say I am using the right settings, as I am sure as damn it using the correct credentials.

Having an SSL certificate now attached to my site wouldn't make any difference would it to outgoing messages with CB?

I know that the same email address I'm using for CB Registration emails etc, sends and receives emails as normal when done through 'webmail' so it's a working email address.
