I cannot do anything I want...

<embed src="*.flv">

is not working, for example. It is cleaned away...

An administrator fieldtype with content plugin tags enabled would be a nice feature. Is it possible to reduce security settings?

I decided to use Joomla and CB for this site, because there is no need for coding. I've been told by your colleague, that CB is able to have media in user profile and bought CB for these features. Now it seems to be useless for me. Can I get my money back, please?

Some elements are black listed by default for security. As mentioned in my previous replies you need to white list certain elements within CB > Configuration > User Profile. It should be the last parameter on the tab. You'd just add "embed" (without quotes) to it so you can use embed elements in delimiter fields and editor text areas. You will likely also need to white list "object" as well so object embeds won't be stripped.

You can also try using our CB Video Fieldtype plugin available for download in the Professional downloads section. Once installed create a new Video fieldtype and ensure you are not excluding "Unknown" provider (parameter shown when creating your new Video field). Next edit a users profile and paste a URL to your video to the field (should be a text field) and it will try to create and object embed for the video url.

An administrator fieldtype with content plugin tags enabled would be a nice feature. Is it possible to reduce security settings?

No, but next release will allow enable/disable of content plugins for delimiter field content.

You don't have to code anything. As explained it's just basic HTML.

I've been told by your colleague, that CB is able to have media in user profile and bought CB for these features.

It can perfectly fine as explained. Please read my replies carefully.

Can I get my money back, please?

If you're within your 30 days you're certainly entitled to a refund. Please see the below regarding our refund policy and how to receive your refund.

Please understand you never had to purchase a subscription to achieve what you're wanting. What you're wanting is HTML in a core fieldtype. All of which is included with CB core, which is free. I apologize if you were mislead into purchasing.

Hi,

let's give it another try...

I'm going to use the CB Video Fieldtype plugin now.
Everything goes fine, except one little problem: You can't see the video!

I followed your instruction and filled a video field with a URL by copy & paste. The original link is working perfectly with AVS (not the plugin link, but the link to the video itself!). If the link is not ok AVS don't know what to do and prompt a message "Stream not found...". If I paste the link to my browser's URL bar, I'm prompted to download the file.

All I see in the frontend is a white rectangle of the size of the video width & height as set in the CB video field edit. No thumb. By the way: what thumb is used? How is it created? I tried to change the size of the thumb but there's no effect. Changing video size has effect in frontend's white rectangle.

All I can do is to let the rectangle dissapear by excluding unknown providers.

The white rectangle tells me - after a right-click - that "Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.168" is involved and no video is being loaded...

All it does is add the URL supplied to an object embed element. It trys to render out the video as flash. If you're using a Youtube video for example it parses it into the object embed that Youtube normally provides you. It eliminates the user having to supply the object embed code. If you're allowing Unknown providers and copying a URL that leads directly to a video then I've no idea how it'll behave as it's designed to work with external sites like youtube.

..and it does work with youtube videos, indeed. I tried it at the moment.

But it is apparently not working with locally stored videos. Am I right?

If the plugin works as you explained, it seems to me not to be a very promising endeavour to embed it "by hand" (HTML), too...

Besides, the <embed> tag and everything that comes with it is still cleaned away completely. I put "embed" and "object" separated by blank space in the filter field of the user profil, as you told me. No effect!

If I use the "Sourcerer"-tag <source> around <embed> in the editor text area, this is displayed in the frontend (youtube...)

embed src="
"
</p> <p><span style="font-family: courier new, courier, monospace;">

The URL is missing now in this post, but visible in frontend.

No videos in my profiles...

If they're in flv format it should work, but if they're mp3, etc.. it will not work as it does not create html elements for such type of videos.

If the plugin works as you explained, it seems to me not to be a very promising endeavour to embed it "by hand" (HTML), too...

Please see the below on how to embed your own videos using a Delimiter field (you just supply your HTML to it).

www.w3schools.com/html/html_videos.asp

You will need to add the below (including spaces) to the filter list in CB > Configuration > User Profile.

embed object video

If I use the "Sourcerer"-tag <source> around <embed> in the editor text area, this is displayed in the frontend (youtube...)

You can't use content plugins like Sourcerer in CB yet. Next CB release you'll be able to enable content plugins for delimiter fields.
