Problem with e-mail system

Your mailer settings are incorrect making it unable to send emails. Please note if you're using SMTP and Joomla emails are working that Joomla will fallback to PHPMailer if SMTP fails. Try setting your mailer settings to use PHPMailer.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but then I tend to do some really dumb things myself, overlooking the obvious, so here goes, just in case....

Have you examined the email address thoroughly for spelling errors?
Have you tried using that email address to send or receive email via software on your computer? If so, does it go through? Try sending yourself an email via that address from your Outlook or other software, just in case. Never hurts to look beneath all the furniture.

Does Joomla even send emails? Try using Joomlas mass mailer to see if emails send.

Yes, I have ensured the e-mail address is correct......

And krileon, I would assume so since its CB that's trying to send the PHP email out.

I'm using AcyMailing for my newsletters and mass mailing and that is working just fine.

That error message is when someone uses the Forgot Password link on the UserLogin module for CB. When they request to reset password, they get that error message:

Password Reset Failed! Error: Could not instantiate mail function.



So the e-,mail system is failing, but why? Whats wrong?
