Conditional Required Fields issue

Oh, ya, sorry... with the required fields hidden (Selecting No or I'm a Scion Dealership) and hitting the update button kicks back the "Field is required - Model Year..." and puts me back at the first page of the profile edit.

I have temporarily turned off the "required" status on those fields.

Like I said, I don't get it... it was working just fine the other day, I hadn't changed anything until I tried to add the 3rd option to the "Own a Scion?" dropdown select for "I'm a Scion Dealership" - everytime after that change, selecting no would not let me update the profile without Vehicle information filled out.

Even after removing the 3rd option and putting everything back to the way it was, I still can not update the profile without putting in vehicle information when selecting no.

Title: Own a Scion Name: cb_own_scion
Values:
Value Label
0 No
1 Yes
2 I'm a Scion Dealership

Default Registration Value: 0

Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then re-test and see if any fatal errors are output. If none then it's either a bug or a condition conflict. Is "Own a Scion" also being conditioned to show/hide? If it is remove that condition then see if issue persists. There's a few bug tickets scheduled to be fixed for next release for some weird scenarios that can happen, but it's mostly due to the POST behavior erroring or multi-conditioning a field.

Hi Kyle,

I had conditional settings for the Own a Scion field only, which if set anything other than Yes, it hides the other vehicle info fields which were set to required.

What I DON'T get is that it was working just fine before I added the extra value to the Own a Scion field. If they said No, the fields were hidden and I could save the profile without filling in the other required fields, if they said yes, they were required to fill in their vehicle info before they could save/update their profile.

Now, no matter what I do, if the other fields are set to required, even if they are hidden, they can't save/update their profile without filling in the required fields.

I have turned off the requirement for those fields for the time being.

Edit your other fields and set them to be conditional self. Then have them condition against the value of "Own a Scion" field. Conditional self often behaviors better than conditional others. This will give me a strong idea of where things are going wrong.

hmmm, now that you mention it, I think I may have had it that way before and switched to have the condition just on the Own a Scion field... I will switch it around and try that and let you know.

Thanks again Kyle

So, tried turning off conditional on Own a Scion, and applied to other "Required" fields where if Own a Scion not equal to 1 (Yes) hide field for each of the additional vehicle fields. Now, if I select No, I'm a Scion Dealership, or I'm a Sponsor, still wont let me save/update the profile - only if I select Yes and input info into the fields can I save/update the profile.

I'm stumped for sure

Just an FYI - selecting anything other than yes will actually HIDE the other fields as it's supposed to, but even if hidden, the requirement setting still requires the fields to be populated with information. I don't know if it matters or not, but the additional fields are all dropdown select type fields...
