I need further assistance on this problem as I'm really stuck on getting this to work and I won't normally post a thread if I can find an online solution I'll list down below what I did to check if configuration are wrong.

Initially I tested all the email functions from the mass mailer to the registration and everything works fine, but the problem is outlook wasn't getting mails. So I opted using mandrill smtp.

Suddenly the registration emails are not sending, I tried debugging on what could be the problem. I first started testing joomla private messaging and to my surprise the emails are being sent by mandrill. Then I tried the mass mailer and with a little delay it also sent which is great to know cb passes to mandrill too. However when I try the registration it doesn't send. Finally I tried the resend confirmation button on the users and finally the mail did send!.

I'm now a little bit sure than this is not a mandrill issue anymore and I need to change something with the registration configuration/codes but I have no idea what.

Ensure the pending subject and body have content within CB > Configuration > Registration. If it doesn't then it won't send. Please also ensure you are using CB registration and not Joomla registration. Are you trying to test confirmation email from backend or frontend? Do you have the registration email address correctly supplied within CB > Configuration > Registration?

Hi Krileon,

Yes both pending fields has values from the start, Yes I'm using CB registration process. I test by registering on the front-end of the site and yes the email address is correctly supplied.

Just tested again no pending confirmation email is sent.

Are you able to check the mail server logs to see if the email is even attempting to send? Have you checked the recipients spam folder to see if it's showing up as spam? I can't see why 1 email would not be working. It's likely the contents of the email are triggering spam filtering.

Hi There,

Checking on mandrill I can see there is no attempt to send as there's no response from the receiving server even a hard bounce status. Nothing in spam. I doubt it's the content as I was able to send the same mail via the "resend confirmation" function in the back-end.

Would you mind checking on my back-end?

Did you test Joomlas mass mailer or CBs? Please ensure you've tested the mass mailer within CB > User Management. If you're using SMTP ensure the host has the port appended. Example below using GMail SMTP.
