Solve the issue thanks for giving me a checklist of things to check out. The problem was at CB auto actions I've set the auto redirect trigger to "After user registration" Instead of "After user registration mail sent".
I recommend using the trigger onAfterSaveUserRegistration. It's fired after the entire registration process is completed and just before the registration complete message is displayed.
