OK... disabled Kuena integration.
Disabled cbsubs plugin ( just to be on the safe side)
Installed CB2.014, OK.
Installed CBsubs4.1 & cbsubsbot latest.
System says CBsubs is incompatible old version (strange) - new CBsubs menu is there. Old plugins are showing, no sign of new ones.
OK, Removed all the old CBsubs plugins, then reinstalled CBsubs and the cbsubsbot.
Now CBsubs menu is GONE.

Apparently CB is perfectly upgraded, and CBSubs is now 4.1 - it shows as installed and enabled
But CBsubs menu is GONE... suggestions?

OOPS - wait.. now I see what I did wrong.. There is a whole BUNCH of other CBsubs stuff I have to download separately and install.
Would be nice if it was all one cohesive package - or didi I miss that somewhere?

"never mind"...

OK, have everything loaded and active ( as far as I can tell) but system still BALKS

How do I "publish"???

Sigh, "strange"... plugins suddenly appeared under CBsubs plugins. (They werent there previously)
Looks like I am done jumping through hoops (Phase One)

Where is the link to the written step by step upgrade guide again?

There is, the CBSubs preset package found below.

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads/presets

The Download link on the CBSubs page below also always downloads the preset.

www.joomlapolis.com/addons/cb-paid-subscriptions

You can also build a custom package with exactly the CBSubs plugins you need on our download page below.

Actually, when I said "Where is the link to the written step by step upgrade guide again?" - I meant the CB/CBsubs upgrade, not the Joomla One.

I'm currently running

Joomla 3.48 with CB 1.9.1 and CBsubs 3.0.0

If I got the process right, I need to do the following in this order:

Upgrade CB to latest 2.0.14
Upgrade CBsubs to latest 4.1.0
Upgrade Joomla to latest 3.6.0

I'm trying to write up an upgrade checklist, and then run through the timing of it on my DEV server, so I can plan a realistic maintenance window on the LIVE server.

Here is what we have ...

We have – 35 CB plugins in CBPlugin manager
Extension manager: 4 ‘CB’ Modules, 1 cbpaidsubsbot plugin.
‘CommunityBuilder’ site & Admin Components
‘CommunityBuilder’ admin Menu MODULE
Kunena Community Builder Integration PLUGIN

Now, in my earlier test run on DEV server, (see above) I had disabled the one (Kuhena) integration - and removed old CBsubs plugins, before installing new ones. Is removing old plugins best practice? Or NOT???

I'm more than a little worried about losing SETTINGS during the upgrade, can you confirm that "Presets" bundled in the module will not overwrite any existing SETTINGS? ( CB/CBsubs...)

Very important for me to know this, due to huge amount of time involved in tracking down all old settings, noting them, re-configuring into upgraded system... (If necessary)

That's all we have other than the below video.

What you can expect is every site will be different. Clone your site and upgrade the clone. You will now know exactly what to expect from the migration. What will fail and how to fix where it failed.

Upgrade CB to latest 2.0.14
Upgrade CBsubs to latest 4.1.0
Upgrade Joomla to latest 3.6.0

Your upgrade order seams fine depending on what Joomla release you're currently on. We only support Joomla 2.5 and 3.x with CB 2.x. If you're on at least Joomla 2.5 then your upgrade order is fine otherwise you need to upgrade Joomla first.

Now, in my earlier test run on DEV server, (see above) I had disabled the one (Kuhena) integration - and removed old CBsubs plugins, before installing new ones. Is removing old plugins best practice? Or NOT???

Uninstall, no. Disable, yes. I personally recommend disabling anything that integrates with CB (e.g. Kunena) to prevent CB 1.x API loading in the middle of install and breaking things, but that's a personal recommendation. Typically you'll be ok, but again the clone migration will help you find where things go wrong.

I'm more than a little worried about losing SETTINGS during the upgrade, can you confirm that "Presets" bundled in the module will not overwrite any existing SETTINGS? ( CB/CBsubs...)

You should not lose any settings during the migration. If you do then there's a potential issue with the migration code or an error occurred during migration. As with this issue the clone migration will help find such cases.

DEV SERVER Upgrade was all "green lights" - success fully reported.

But when I go to our "Subscribe" page, and click on either the "free" or the "Paid" plans (example - /component/comprofiler/pluginclass?plugin=cbpaidsubscriptions&do=displayplans&plans=1&Itemid=249) - I get a blank page with

You need to log in.

Both plans have Access Level / Access Group "Public"...

If I log in as either a free or paid member - then I can view the plan ( upgrade, etc) but PUBLIC is being blocked. Any suggestions?
