Duplicate emails being sent by Mailer and Notifications

Hi,

Just started using Mailer again and it is sending multiple copies of the same email. This is happening for several different plans - not just one plan. I do have a cron job set-up to process the emails once per day.

Also getting duplicate notifications from "Profile Logger" same notification being sent to the same email address.

Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Are all emails sending duplicates? Even CB registration? If so you could have something acting on CBs mailer triggers or an issue with your hosts mail server. CBSubs mailers can only send duplicates if the mailers configuration allows for that (adjust the mailer to only email the user once, etc..).

1. All emails are sending duplicates even CB Registration.
2. With CBSubs Mailers: There are multiple emails in sequence -- upon activation, 1 day, 3days, 7days, 12 days and 14 days after activation. Each email in the sequence has a different message. Each email sent in the sequence is being sent 4 times.

If all emails are sending duplicates then there's likely something wrong with your mailer settings in general or your hosts mail server. I recommend contacting your host or checking in Joomla global configuration your mailer settings.

Hi Kyle

This is what my host support folks said:

'I can see from the postfix logs that duplicate emails are being sent out with the same To: and From: addresses but with unique message-id's over phpmail -- that means, the application on the site is sending out duplicate emails. Postfix certainly doesn't do this on it's own, so it must be something with the site like a misconfiguration'

However, we did notice this setting, Unless it's the Emails Sent From on the General Tab in the Configurations? It could be switched to Admin and that would be sending from PHP instead of from the user.
That might be what is causing it. So I would recommend that you try that and see if it will correct the issue.

I don't know what more to suggest. I can't see how CB could be sending duplicates of every email unless that has been intentionally configured. Do you have CB Auto Actions installed? If so try disabling it and see if issue persists as maybe you've an action acting on the mailer trigger.
