I have enabled the MFT plugins in Joomla, but I get the message "Multi-factor Authentication is not enabled." in CB Profile Edit (Account) tab.
Please advise.
That just means MFA isn't enabled for the account. You should see the same in Joomla user management. It'll say it's enabled when a MFA method is actually enabled for the account.

could we not enable it for a usergroup ('registered' for example) because we want to offer passkey authentication by default to all users. It will be impossible to do this manually for each user.
CB has no control over MFA. That's entirely a Joomla feature. Sounds like you want to require MFA? Believe you can enable that in Users > Manage > Options > Multi-factor Authentication, but am unsure as again this feature is entirely handled by Joomla we're just rendering its field.
