MFA - Resolved

Could you tell us how you resolved the "Multi-factor Authentication is not enabled." - I had it working just fine, and then in one of the updates I got this.

Basically, the problems had been introduced by changing permissions on menu and submenu items. We installed CB in a new Joomla instance and matched permissions and menu systems.
Once permissions matched, everything worked.
If you can afford to, reinstall everything - including Joomla. If not, then you have to match it with a new instance of CB.

The lessons we learned:

DOCUMENT EVERY CHANGE YOU MAKE - SO YOU CAN BACKTRACK
BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP

I guess I will get rid of MFA - I cannot do that, it's just me, I do not have the time to do that. A backup won't help me, but I do backup religiously, especially community websites.
It makes very little sense to me, I'm not doing anything custom, I did not change permissions on menu items. And eve if I did, why should that stop MFA from working?!?

most likely you have activated the plugins, but....just in case.

The "Multi-factor Authentication is not enabled." message is output by the MFA settings itself. It goes away when you have an MFA method activated. I assume you're seeing this when editing yourself? Try disabling and re-enabling your MFA method. CB itself doesn't handle this display or functionality we just render the Joomla field basically.

Yes I've tried enabling the passkey plugin, disabling emptying cache, reenabling, enabling them all... nothing I do seems to switch it on. I understand that CB Just carries the field.
I made a menu item for a Joomla user profile edit... same thing "Multi-factor Authentication is not enabled."
I don't know, it was working great, until it just stopped.
