The huge success and traffic of this site has prompted the team to investigate alternatives in order to keep performance levels as high as possible. Our 23,000+ active users and the increasing popularity of the Community Builder suite including the great third party plugins made it imperative to seek out the best hosting environment possible. Our Joomlapolis site

has just signed up

its 20,000th member!

This is an amazing accomplishment taken into account that the initial launch of this site took place around the end of November 2005 - thus 8 months ago. Another interesting stat is the fact that - due to the actual purpose of this site to support the Community Builder activities - most of the membership is comprised of website admins and developers.

We would like to thank all Joomlapolitans who have helped bring this community to this major milestone!

A new Version of jAwards, the component for distributing medals among your users in Joomla and Community Builder, is out. here With a small bugfix, there are 2 new features: * When handing out a new award, the complete list of users is only displayed on request - instead it's possible to enter just a userid for performance on sites with a large number of members * Deletion of not needed medals (meaning there are no awards associated to is) is now possible in Medal Management. For Upgrading from 0.5 / 0.51, just remove the old component and install the new one, the database entries _should_ stay intact. No need to install a new CB-Tab. The CB Team is proud to release version 1.0 of JoomlaJoe’s Profilebook plugin. This plugin takes advantage of the latest CB plugin API introduced in version 1.0 Stable of Community Builder in order to introduce a powerfull, highly configurable guestbook tab in a CB profile.

The plugin besides its obvious operational advantages can be viewed as an excellent example of use of the powerful CB plugin API for community workflows, and it's simple yet powerful user interface can serve as a guideline for future plugin development.
