The CB Team has released version 1.8 of the GroupJive extension.
All Joomlapolitans can download this free GPL package from the CB Team download area.
This is the first stable release of Groupjive from the CB Team. All GroupJive websites need to upgrade to this stable release as it not only fixes all identified issues but CB Team standard security hardenings have been applied throughout the GroupJive 1.8 codeset. This makes GroupJive 1.8 a highly recommended security release. We are already working and have made considerable progress (in testing as we speak) on a completely rewritten GroupJive 2.0 which will take full advantage of the CB API framework.
A huge thank you should go to Kyle who has managed nicely to complete this task and progress on 2.0 version while handling the forums in parallel!

CB Documentation subscribers can now download the CB Facebook Connect plugin 1.0 RC3 and CB Twitter plugin 1.0 RC2. Both new packages are available in the subscriber download area and can be quickly accessed by looking at your Doc-Subs tab in your Joomlapolis profile. The new versions correct some minor issues found and also add the handling of email address synchronization.
Specifically, the CB Facebook Connect 1.0 RC3 release now takes advantage of the updated Facebook API in order to synchronize the Facebook user's primary email address with the CB plugin (once Facebook user approves). This improvement will cause all newly created users to have a valid and usable user email address. This improvement fixes various issues with certain newsletter components attempting and failing to validate previously provided dummy email addresses. We have also listed this plugin on the Joomla extension directory (JED), so feel free to vote and review. Please continue posting any support issues regarding this plugin in the relevant forum.
The CB Twitter 1.0 RC2 release also improves upon previous email address synchronization handling. The Twitter API does not provide the Twitter user's email address so a usable email address is not possible without further user intervention. The new code will now produce a valid and unique (although fake) email address in the form of twitter_XXXXXX at invalid.com. This way newsletter components will be able to succeed in their validation functions and the CB profile editing process will identify this specific email address form as invalid and force the user to change it. This plugin is also listed on JED and can be discussed in its dedicated forum.

The CB Team has just released version 2.2 of its Captcha plugin and also version 1.2 of the Last Visitors plugin.
Both plugins are available for download by all CB Documentation subscribers (just check your Doc-Subs tab for quick download links).
This brings the number of CB Team released addons to 14 for all active CB Documentation subscribers.
The Captcha plugin has been updated to handle Joomla index mode calls (see last parameter of plugin). This mode setting should be used if you have moved or encoded your Joomla 1.5 config file or if you have any permission related issues. The Captcha plugin has also been modified to work nicely with our new CB Facebook and Twitter Connect plugins (also offered to CB Documentation subscribers).
Discussions and support questions regarding the Captcha plugin should be posted/addressed here.
The Last Visitors plugin was originally developed and released by Trail and has been modified to work with latest CB API so it now installs and works nicely on all CB 1.2.2 websites (and does not need Joomla legacy enabled on Joomla 1.5 environments).
Discussions and support questions regarding the Last Views plugin should be posted/addressed here.
Once again we would like to thank all our CB Documentation subscribers for their continued support.
