Community Builder can be freely downloaded by all registered members

We just released Community Builder 2.4.5 with 6 new features and 12 bug fixes!

The new features include:

• Create access parameters for Private Messaging (more info in Kyle's blog)
• Nested substitutions are now supported (see updated tutorial)
• Reason substitution value now supported in tab titles

Community Builder 2.4.5 is a recommended upgrade for all CB sites.

Our demo website has already been updated to Community Builder 2.4.5, so you can see it in action along will all our Joomlapolis add-ons.

As always, you should first test on a cloned environment before upgrading your production site.

Joomla 3.9.18 is here - a minor regression bug fix release for the Joomla 3.9.17 security and bug fixes release!

The Joomla project team has recently released version 3.9.18 as a minor regression bug fix release right after the Joomla 3.9.17 security and bug fixes release.

Joomla 3.9.18/3.9.17 fixes three low-priority security vulnerabilities and 49 bugs and improvements.

Security Issues Fixed

• Low Priority - Core - Incorrect access control in com_users access level editing function (affecting Joomla 3.8.8 through 3.9.16)
• Low Priority - Core - Missing checks for the root usergroup in usergroup table (affecting Joomla 2.5.0 through 3.9.16)
• Low Priority - Core - Incorrect access control in com_users access level deletion function (affecting Joomla 2.5.0 through 3.9.16)

Bug fixes and Improvements (Full List of fixes)

• Removal of an unneeded file added to 3.9.16
• Multilingual Associations: Fix for the Edit Associations buttons in Menu Items and in Category
• PHPMailer upgraded to its latest version
• 'New' MVC classes depreciation notice for 4.0 instead of 5.0
• Facilitate the usage of help system by third parties
• PostgreSQL: Fix for module loading

Community Builder 2.4.4 (latest build) and all Joomlapolis add-ons work just fine with Joomla 3.9.18. You can see everything in action on our demo site.

Joomla 3.9.18 is a recommended upgrade for all Joomla 3.x series sites - you should upgrade.

As always, before any Joomla upgrade on your live website, take a backup just in case anything goes wrong.

• PHP 7.4 compatibility added helping inprove performance.
• Version checking now reports stable only releases when Plugin Version Checking parameter in CB Configuration Integrations tab is set to No.

Our CB Paid Subscriptions solution (latest CBSubs 4.3.1 build) now has a new Family Plan integration plugin that implements one of the most requested feature sets - Family plan subscriptions!

The concept is simple: A family plan purchaser can invite other users as family member subscribers and each family member can enjoy the benefits of the plan.

A typical use case workflow goes as follows:

1. A CBSubs Plan can be enabled as a family plan and parameters are configured to specify the total number of family members (default 5) that can have access to the plan. The parameter set includes email templates for invitation, acceptance, rejection and deletion emails to facilitate communications between the main family member subscriber/manager and the family members.
   
2. The main family member/manager that purchases the subscription can invite additional family members to share the subscription. The invitation is email address based and the recipient is guided through the appropriate process (registration, login, etc.). Family memberhsip management is very intuitive with reminders, deletions, new invitations, etc.
   
3. Each invited member can accept or reject the invitation.
   
4. When the main subscription expires all shared subscriptions will also expire.

 The beauty and simplicity of the design is such that all configured integrations for the shared plan will automatically be executed when a family member accepts the shared invitation. E.g., subscription permissions will allow shared family plan members to gain access to all website content the main plan was designed to offer.

Also, instead of implementing a hard Fixed Limit (default 5) on the number of shared family members permitted, the plan can be configured to use the value of a CB field as limit. This concept can be used in many ways. One concept could be to allow the main subscriber to purchase additional family member counts using a merchandise plan.

Joomla 3.9.15 is here - a security and bug fixes release!

The Joomla project team has recently released version 3.9.15 that addresses three low-priority security issues and fixes 23 bugs.

Security Issue Fixed

• Low Priority - Core - CSRF in batch actions (affecting Joomla 3.0.0 through 3.9.14)
• Low Priority - Core - CSRF com_templates LESS compiler (affecting Joomla 3.0.0 through 3.9.14)
• Low Priority - Core - XSS in com_actionlogs (affecting Joomla 3.9.0 through 3.9.14)

Bug fixes

• Beez Template: Fix the consent field modal
• Action Log emails: Use of absolute URLs
• Two TinyMCE editor fixes (see changelog for details)
• User email addresses: Case insensitive management
• Prevent library extensions to overwrite core files
