Community Builder latest build is here - with 2 new field types!

Kyle has just blogged about these 2 new field types and the latest Community Builder build has these new features free for downloading!

Decimal Number Field

This new field type has the following parameters:

• Thousands separator (supports language string for proper localization)
• Decimal separator (supports language string for proper localization)
• Step value

With these you will be able to render decimal field values like 1,000.05.

Color Field

Kyle refers to this in his blog as a 'just for fun' field and challenges our community to come up with creative ways to make use of this.
It is basically just a color selector but it can be used as a means to let your users select a color theme for various profile elements.

HTML5 Improvements

HTML5 improvements have also been included in this build for other field types (Integer, Email, etc.).

Joomla 3.9.11 is here - a security and bug fixes release!

The Joomla project team has recently released version 3.9.11 that fixes one low-priority security vulnerability and several bugs and improvements.

Security Issue Fixed

• Low Priority - Core - Hardening com_contact contact form (affecting Joomla 1.6.2 through 3.9.10)

Bug fixes and Improvements

• Custom Fields: Fix language strings/unknown columns/sorting
• Creating categories on the fly with numbers
• Fix database schema checker for MySQL 8
• Tree sorting in templates file tree
• Improved PHP 7.4 compatibility

Community Builder 2.4.2 (latest build) and all Joomlapolis add-ons work just fine with Joomla 3.9.11. You can see everything in action on our demo site.

Joomla 3.9.11 is a highly recommended upgrade for all Joomla 3.x series sites - you should upgrade immediately.

As always, before any Joomla upgrade on your live website, take a backup just in case anything goes wrong.

CB Core Fields Ajax 4.2.0 released!

CB Core Fields Ajax 4.2.0 has been released with great new features and improvements.

Kyle has been blogging about the new features and improvements that are included in this new release to make inline editing of CB fields even better.

The main new features in CB Core Fields Ajax 4.2.0 are:

• Improved styling for Canvas and Avatar ajax editing
• Ability to edit multiple fields at once in a single ajax instance
• CSS improvements giving the ajax editing display a more modern clean look
• Editor field ajax editing now supports JCE and CodeMirror editors (in addition to TinyMCE)

CB Activity 5.0 released and will rock you!

CB Activity 5.0 has been released and its A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!!

Kyle has been blogging about the new features and performance improvements, but blogging is not seeing and you can see it in action on our demo site.

The new features list in CB Activity 5.0 includes:

• Themes can now be added to your activity posts (includes background styling, text styling, etc.)
• Giphy powered animated gifs Reactions are now supported when posting
• Emotes now accessible using popup image selector (instead of having to remember the smiley short code)
• Action autocompletion now helps you quickly get your message streaming (e.g., you type Feeling and system proposes happy, blessed, loved, sad, etc.)
• Modal windows for Likes, Follows and Tags has been redesigned and now has a canvas layout
• Filtering has been added to streams letting you filter by assets and users. This way you can configure an activity stream that only shows CB Groupjive or your Connections activities.

Joomla 3.9.10 is here - a regression bug fix release for the Joomla 3.9.9 security and bug fixes release!

The Joomla project team has recently released version 3.9.9 that fixes one low-priority security vulnerabilities and 32 bugs and improvements.

Security Issues Fixed

• Low Priority - Core - Filter attribute in subform fields allows remote code execution (affecting Joomla 3.9.7 through 3.9.8)

Bug fixes and Improvements

• Repeatable Custom Fields: fix to keep HTML tags
• Media Manager: Modal layout improved
• Voting: Cache cleaned after voting
• Article ordering: Items grouped by category first
• Batch system: Improvements for Contact and Newsfeed
