any way to configure like this? was created by jaume_teixido
Hi kyle,

let me explain my groupjive structure and one needed, maybe after this you could show me the good way.

Our web have 1 category, 9 groups (we can call 1st level groups), 2 of this 9 groups, have 2 more nested groups (2 nested groups for each one).

the all 1st level groups are public, and the nested groups are restricted.

Whe need 9 activity tab (one for each 1st level) that shows:

- the own group activity
- not the other public one (not other 1st level)
- in case of the registerd user have right to accés, the nested group.

is there any way to configure this?
I've tryed, but the activity show all public groups, also if I banned for an usar some groups it's showed.

is this correct?

No, CB Activity is all combined into up to 2 views (recent page and/or profile tab).

is this correct?

If the user can view the group and its information then they can also view its activity. Ensure you're using latest release.

Hi again Kyle,

Let me explain munch better, because I’m thinking that the first time I haven’t explained in correct way

In this case we have 1 category, call “el suro”:
Types: Open / Apporval / Invite
Access: Everybody
Create: (limited for one admins group)
Nested: disable
Nested Access: All Registered users
Owner: 42 (myself)

In this category we have some groups

Parent: No Parent
Name: Muntanya
Type: Open
Group Access: Everybody

Parent: No Parent
Name: Trail
Type: Open
Group Access: Everybody

Parent: Trail
Name: Trail Piris
Type: Approval
Group Access: Everybody

For this configuration we have two moderators users
(user1) Vocalia Muntanya: moderator for “Muntanya”
(user2) Vocalia Trail: moderator “Trail” and moderator “Trail Piris”
User1 is not joined in groups Trail and Trail Piris
User2 is not joined in group Muntanya

So

We want configure “user activity tab” or “recent” (better tab, but doesn’t mind) like this:

Activity tab for user 1, that shows all Muntanya joined users activity in Muntanya .
Activity tab for user 2, that shows all Trail and Trail Piris joined users activity in Trail and Trail Piris.

So, in a cb content module, we show this two tabs (in diferent pages) for Everybody (registered, non-registered users).
[cb:usertab tab="34" user="351" /]
Where 34 is activity tab in cb profile
And 351 is joomla id user for user 1

I tried, but in user1 tab, also is showed “trail and trail piris” activity. And the same with user2 tab (where is showed muntanya activity).
I’ve also tried to ban user 1 for trail and trail piris group, and ban user2 for muntanya group. But with no success.

Could you please show me the correct way to do this?

Thanks !

All 3 of your example groups are also Public so anyone can see their activity. An approval group is not private and can be viewed publicly; an invite only group is. You also have all their access set to everybody. Banned users can't access a group and thus should not see that groups activity, but there was an access control issue in a later version; the latest has this fixed, but you have yet to provide versions.

Yes, 1.0.6 is latest. Setting the user as banned in the group should prevent them from seeing that groups activity. Have confirmed this is working as expected. For example I placed Demouser 6 in Group 10. I then logged in as Demouser 1 and joined Group 10. I then posted on the Wall. I then set Demouser 6 as banned in said group. Now I logged back in as Demouser 6 and couldn't see the wall post activity. None of this matters though if the user is the owner of the category or is a site moderator as they're exempt from being banned.
