[#5652] Groups logo images looks blur

Ok - the large images are used on the main group page and the thumbnail images are used on the group summary layouts.

Depending on your template layout and your group setup (if you are using 1 column or 0 columns) your canvas layout area might span from 700x200 to 945x200.

In this case it is best to have your main canvas image size set to max values of 700 x 200 for 1 column layout cases (or 945 x 200 for no column layout).

And of course make sure that people are encouraged to upload images of higher dimensions as they will be down-scaled. If they upload smaller sizes image will appear streched and thus blurred in main group page.

On summary pages the layout is approximately 218 x 155.
Summary pages use the thumbnails in their displays, so you should configure thumbail sizes to be something like 220 x 160.

This being said we will be having an internal discussion to see how we can suggest better default image size dimentions.

I reduced the size of the image to 128X128 same as the logo.png which is default logo image.
Now my image not looks blur but it's not fitted completely in the groups box(group name--sustainable business).I attached the screenshots of the page and also Image which I resized.In screen shot of page, there is second-row first group namely sustainable business only that groups logo image was resized.

Correct - the current layout for that page calls for logo image thumbnail to be placed over canvas image thumbnail.

We will be looking into alternative template layout proposals for that page.

Nant, I've been having the same issues with photo quality. Both on the "Group" image and with uploaded photos. Please see attached images.

We love the functionality of GroupJive and will begin offering to our members next week.

I've read the prior messages - do you know when you might have a fix for this?

If you upgraded from GJ 2.x then the logo/image parameters for GJ 2.x were set too low. I've added a ticket to remove the migration of those parameters as they're just too low of values to be of use to the new design for GJ 3.0.1. For now you need to manually change them in GJ and GJ Photo configuration if you've already migrated.

I've also noted in that same ticket to see if the upscaling via CSS can be removed to avoid stretching smaller images, which is what causes them to become blurred.

The design of GJ was designed after Google Communities. The exception being GJ has a canvas. A new layout will be provided to provide a List layout in a later release for those that don't like the current Grid layout. GJ frontend is also entirely template driven and can be adjusted however you like below.

Since we are going live this month, please suggest how we fix this issue.
We have set the logo dimensions to
Max Image Height - 640
Max Image Width - 1280
Max Thumbnail Height - 320
Max Thumbnail Width - 640
Maintain Aspect Ratio - Yes (or should we set this to no)

In the New Group page we have option to load Canvas image and Logo image.
Please suggest what size image we should upload for canvas and Logo in order for images to be displayed correctly.
We will ask our creative team to provide us new images.
We have to fix this issue on high priority as our community users will need to access the Category page which displays all the groups to join them.
Please suggest.
