Update - I tested in the front end on editing just an article's text - and it did not freeze the dropdowns.
So - no CB field, but the article itself did not have issues. But I suppose it closes the editor differently that way.
Ok, I believe this maybe just a CB Core Fields Ajax exclusive issue. Probably with how the editors aren't completely cleaning themselves up when destroyed due to the edit inputs being destroyed. Will investigate further and see if this broke somehow. This was fixed for TinyMCE so it's strange it's back again, but it's possible Joomla 5 or 6 changed the JavaScript.
