I uploaded many other files that were much larger the same night so I don't think it was the provider.

anyways, it installed after i uploaded the file via ftp to a tmp folder and installed via URL.

It *is* the provider. It is a typical 99ct hoster problem. The package contains lots of files which must be extracted and copied by Joomla, which takes some time and CPU power, so when the server load is too high the script dies, thats all.

This is *NOT* a hosting issue. This is *NOT* a size issue.

I, too, am having the same problem. I've tested this on shared as well as dedicated hosting. The upload completes and there is no timeout.

The install package is reported as not found.

Again, this issue does *NOT* have to do with upload times, sizes or shared hosting issues.
