Hello

I am facing the same issue, despite all previous recommendation and suggestions.

That is:
Starting from a CB Login module published on the left, if the user enters wrong credentials it is redirected to a page with a duplicate login form:
- one form within the published CB Login module (which is OK)
- the same form within the main content area (which is NOT OK), with a wrong-login message (in French on the attachment: Saisissez l'identifiant et le mot de passe.)

Configuration:
J2.53/CB1.8/Vista SP2 French/Wampserver 2.0
Joomla mod_login unpublished and assigned to no page
CB Login module published and assigned to all pages, redirect page to #
Plugin System - CB Core Redirect 1.0RC2 published
In Joomla user management: option 'Allow user registration' disabled
In CB user management: option 'Allow user registration' enabled independently of Joomla's corresponding option

I urgently need a (working) solution !

Thanks in advance

Indeed with a left column taking much space, it is not ideal:

Here is a solution:

As you are on Joomla 2.5.3, you can create a menu entry (public menu entry, but not in a visible menu) for the CB login.

Then, in the CB login module settings, you set the module to not display for that menu.

That should work. Please confirm.

Regarding missing login credentials error message: it is a bug in your template that doesn't display the "messages" position at top of main part. You can see that with default templates it works fine. Contact your template designer for that bug, they often simply forget to put that needed position for Joomla.

Sorry, beat, but I can't get it to work.

By the way, the left column taking much space is of no concern here...

Also, I am using a pure clone of the official beez template of J2.53, so I guess this is not a template issue.

Now to your solution: can you make it clear what you mean by “create a menu entry (public menu entry, but not in a visible menu) for the CB login”?

More precisely, for the this menu item:
1/ What is the Menu item type?
2/ Upon selecting Module Assignment for this Menu Item > CB Login, what are the settings to use in the CB Login setting page?
3/ What are the other Menu item settings to use for this trick to work?

Thanks in advance

"Now to your solution: can you make it clear what you mean by “create a menu entry (public menu entry, but not in a visible menu) for the CB login”?" means similarly as for the public CB Profile menu item. Creation detailed in the PDF manuals (both the free installation guide coming with CB free, and the complete CB user manual available to all paid members).

In the PDF manual it is only explained how to setup a Menu Item (to the CB Profile) using a predefined Menu Item type, namely
    comprofiler > User profile (mandatory!)

Anyway, I tried the following:
  • create a “ghost menu”, published in an invisible position for the current template
  • create a “ghost menu item”, published within the “ghost menu” and whith menu item type “comprofiler > Registration page”
  • assign the “ghost menu item” the the CB Login module

This doesn't change anything.

Yet, the issue is pretty easy to reproduce:
- install J2.23 with defaut beez template
- install CB 1.8
- publish CB Login module
- on frontend, simply click on the Login button without entering anything else

So, could you try it on your side and come up with a solution?

Thanks in advance.
