XSPF Profile Player

Has anyone seen the New Features that hi5.com has?

Its even better than myspace.com...they have a Music section where with a simple click you can add music to ur playlist (wich is located in ur profile)... You dont need to copy n paste anycode...

The music can be uploaded by bands and users...really Nice

I'm not sure if you've seen the new mp3 player: Xe-MusicGal @ joomla extensions, but it might tie in well, or help somehow

I got excited when I say this nice player, and I'm sure that the player I'm testing with could be tweaked and expanded upon to make it snazzier using Flash.

I think I linked to the original XSPF player involved earlier in this thread. The .swf file that gives the player its looks is separated out from the ActionScript that makes it tick, so it should be relatively easy to give the .swf a mod that fits your site and replace the default one in the plugin. Well, that's the intention, anyway.

The problems with the series of players put out by XE-media in this plugin are:

1. Commercial Licenses. Entangle it with this plugin and the GPL'd code that it depends on and it's nothing but trouble.
2. Reads ID3 (metadata for single mp3s) instead of XSPF (metadata for playlists) files.

Are you close to releasing your player now CB 1 stable is finished?

Just downloaded 1.0 stable to my testing server, looking at what I did with fresh eyes and doing some rearranging.
