ftp upload really is not needed. most people on a shared host can change max post size and other php.ini variables.

Looks like your FTP account's working and landing you in /Administrator, so all that remains is steering the upload to the right FTP directory.

If you set up the FTP account so that it starts at the root directory of your Joomla installation upon logging in (in your case: \\domains\\allycochrane.com) it might work, though I haven't heard news from anyone trying it out on a Windows server yet.

I'll see about branching the plugin on the forge to set up a version without FTP.

Yeah i'm using windows 2003 server.

I'm on a crash course with IIS at the moment. As soon as I figure out how to create ftp accounts i think i might get this working!

For some reason IIS takes the ftp username that you log in with and checks if there is a directory using the same name under the root. If there is it redirects you there. Now cos I've only got the default windows administrator account setup and cos joomla has an administrator directory iis redirects me there. Otherwise i think it might work.

Fork is a good idea. Does anyone know when joomla 1.5 is due? The ftp uploader would be nice.

I changed the ftp server to filezilla rather that windows IIS and I think i'm now logging into the correct folder. But it's still not working. At the joomla end when I try to upload a file it get:

Upload file permission error.

So it seems that I'm getting in to the correct directory now but that i'm hitting problems when the uploader trys to chmod the file. I'm not even sure that the file is getting uploaded cos it doesn't appear on the server. On the other hand it takes a few minutes before these messages appear in filezilla so it seems to be doing something.

Any ideas anyone?

I see source code files have been committed in the last 3 days, so when can we finally see a beta plugin? I am a very willing tester. Integration with CB is essential for my project.

I am using XE-MusicGlV1-XL on www.clevelandmusic.net , but its not quite what I wanted.
