phpBB Connector V1.0.2 Beta now available

Got it. I took off the Joomla login. It works now. I thought it was kind of strange that both of those logins were there. As you can tell, I am very new at this. Thanks again for your help.

A question on this.

I'm a tad confused. The scenario in JOS 1.0.8/phpBB 2.19:

User has an avatar (say a Ford logo) in phpBB.
In CB he has a profile photo of himself.

Can both be used like that? Or will the photo now 'become the avatar?'

I think I got it to work!

I uninstalled and reinstalled phpbb and the connector.

Before I ran the connector, I had a look at my users to see if there were any usernames or weirdness in the database. I discovered that there were a few users who were awaiting admin approval.

Since I do not require admin approval to be a member, I followed the directions to fix the problem found here: www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,38/func,view/id,6820/catid,10/limit,6/limitstart,0/

So, I synced my users and ran the connector using the LIMIT phpbbgui file. I was able to import about 1/2 of the database with no problem then I began running into the time out problem again. The script would just run and run and do nothing OR it'd save index2.php and phpbbgui.php to my desktop and not import.

I found that clearing my browser cache, cookies, and browser history would allow me to run the script again... but I had to do that before each time I ran the connector. If I just cleared the cache or the cookies, it wouldn't work. I had to do all 3. (Running latest versions of MacOSX and Firefox)

It was tedious but I successfully imported 10,350+ users. New users are automatically updating. Every user seems to be set to her proper user id.

reinstalled it and used the limiing file - No luck

Edited out the unneccesary tabs, ditto.

it may just be a server setting we have thats keeping it from working or something, hell I dont know. Ive turned the matter over to the site's owner, he thinks he can make a strictly SQL script to do the work without using the interface so thats the position I am now. If that doesn't work for us, then im going to need to find another solution...

I am actually not sure on this one... Martijn has done most of tha Avatar coding... what would the desired result be?

I was looking at the website of one of the other users having similar problems as yourself. On his site we found that some users had usernames with special characters in them... He changed those users and everything worked fine... I will go through the code and verify (add) escaping code to avoid this issue... Check your users and see if that is the same issue. Then let me know what you find.
